AVOID EXPENSIVE PHONE CALLS WHEN ABROAD
Mobile users who travel abroad for shorter or longer duration are in great danger of paying high roaming charges for calls both originating and terminating when abroad. Many mobile users may therefore keep their mobile phone switched off when travelling abroad, which leads to lost revenues of the mobile operator.
NetRoaming is a least cost routing solution developed together with our partner Vopium (www.vopium.com) that turns expensive incoming GSM calls when roaming into cheaper IP based calls and prevents unwanted calls to terminate abroad when roaming.
NetRoaming keeps track of the mobiles WIFI og GSM roaming state and handles calls to the mobil user in different ways.
If the user is in his/her home country then calls will be handled as normal over GSM.
It is only when the user is abroad that NetRoaming becomes most active. If the user is abroad and the mobile phone is turned On then NetRoaming vil control and direct incoming calls based on the users WIFI connectivity as follows:
- If there is NO WIFI, then calls are sent over standard GSM
- If there is WIFI, then calls are sent over a less expensive IP connection
- If there is NO WIFI, then outgoing calls will be sent over standard GSM
- If there is WIFI, then outgoing calls are sent over a less expensive IP connection
The mobile application used together with the NetRoaming service is from Vopium and is available for most brands such as Iphone/-IPod, Android, Symbian, Windows and Blackberry RIM.
